7 layers – the glazing technique promises longer done nails

Always having beautiful and well-groomed nails gives you that peace in your heart, doesn’t it? The big question is that, sometimes, glazing can be short-lived… If this is your case, don’t worry, because there is a solution: the 7-layer technique.

Created by Daniele Honorato, owner of profile @unhabonita on Instagram, the technique consists of a whole nail ritual. Consequently, the promise is that the polish lasts up to 15 days, without chipping. Incredible, huh?

Were you curious to know a little more? Then read on! We will demystify for you what the technique is and step by step to enjoy the polish without touch-ups for longer.

I understand the 7 layers

As the name of the technique suggests, 7 layers of nail polish will be applied to the nails. But rest assured: these layers are divided between the application of base, polish and overcoat🇧🇷 And it is common to think that when all layers of the technique are applied, the polish will be too thick on the nails, huh? The reality is that the result in the hands is as beautiful as its durability.

Shall we move on to the technique? For starters, it’s important that your nails are clean and free of all traces of polish, okay? Go to work!

Step by step technique:

  • With clean nails, start by applying a thin layer of base coat. For that moment, you can use whatever you prefer, whether it’s strengthening or nourishing;
  • As soon as the first base coat dries, the differential of the 7-layer technique comes into play: the matte base. Coat with a matte base coat and toothpick the corner of your nails to remove product buildup;
  • All dry? It’s time to start applying nail polish. Choose your favorite color and apply a thin layer all over your nails. Once the first coat is dry, apply the second coat. Has the second dried up? Pass once more. In all, you’ll be reapplying the color polish three times to your nails, waiting for the drying interval, and picking your nails to avoid polish buildup.
  • Now that the steps with the colored polish are done, it’s time to use a drying product on the nails. Apply whatever you like;
  • After applying the drying product, take the opportunity to clean the corners very thoroughly. And to close the 7-layer technique with a golden key, apply a top coat to your nails. Then clean with nail polish remover and cotton if needed.

See how easy it is? Now take a moment to practice the technique and don’t forget: thin coats of polish make all the difference!
