The study identifies a 221% increase in searches for Brazilian t-shirts

A study conducted by Agência Conversion using data from 25.6 million Google searches between October 2021 and September 2022, showed that searches for Selection T-shirts had a large growth since the launch of the new Selection Brazilian T-shirt collection, in August 7. Having reached the level of 2.7 million searches, the increase was 221% from July to September of this year.

CANARY YELLOW IS LESS IN LOOKING

The new garments are produced by Nike and feature three distinct models: the classic canary yellow, the blue model with the jaguar print and the black model with the reflective crest.

The Conversion Agency study has mapped the most sought-after jerseys by Brazilians. The most common color is black, followed by blue and white. As far as gender goes, the spec for women’s t-shirts is immensely higher.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE PRODUCT DRIVEN BY DATA AND INSIGHTS

The development of the new collection combines Nike’s sports science, including rigorous data collection and insights, with comprehensive computational design to create a cutting-edge, lightweight kit. The new kits use Dri-FIT ADV technology, Nike’s most advanced apparel platform.

The sweat and body heat maps of the athletes have been fundamental in designing and structuring the Dri-FIT ADV uniforms. Using athletes’ heatmaps and developed technology, the designers were able to engineer the material pixel by pixel to provide precise, breathable reinforcement to cool down in the exact places on the athlete’s body where they are needed most.

Exclusively for the Brazilian national team, Nike has created jaguar-inspired computer prints. More than a visual reference, on the yellow jersey, this iconic leopard motif helps with the breathability of the garment, which provides a seamless, form-fitting fit that wicks sweat and reduces distraction for the athlete.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN THROUGHOUT THE FOOTBALL COLLECTION

As well as bringing the very best in design, performance and innovation, the kits are also made from 100% recycled polyester from recycled plastic bottles, reducing waste and impact without compromising the performance of the garments. Using recycled polyester reduces carbon emissions by up to 30% compared to virgin polyester and helps divert an average of 1 billion plastic bottles from landfills and waterways annually.

The Nike Football team went one step further in creating their 2022 kits: they used digital prototypes to reduce waste production. Thanks to the most modern and advanced machines for creating the product, the number of samples created for prototyping has been reduced by around 75% compared to the processes in 2018.

This design, which considers sustainability from the outset, extends to training kits, pre-match shirts, anthem jackets and fan collections. For the first time ever, over 75% of the entire Nike football apparel line is made with 100% recycled polyester. This increased emphasis on using sustainable production methods across the entire collection brings an unprecedented scale and breadth to eco-design never before seen across Nike’s entire football range.
