After a full day without being able to embark, the digital influencer gets help at the Brazilian embassy in Lebanon
Digital influencer Juliana Nehme, who barred from boarding a flight from Lebanon to Qatar for being ‘fat’ this Wednesday 23, as he posted on his social networks, he managed to leave for Doha after a day waiting for a solution. The Brazilian embassy in Lebanon was responsible for intermediation with the airline Qatar Airways.
According to the story of the young woman, she went to Lebanon to realize a dream together with her mother, who was born in the country. The two had to go to Doha, Qatar, for a stopover, and from there return to Sao Paulo, since there are no direct flights from Beirut, Lebanon, to the capital Sao Paulo.
Juliana explains that she left for Qatar at around 5.10pm local time, without having to pay extra for the ticket or pay a fine, a requirement that had been imposed by the airline. She explained that Qatar Airways backtracked and decided not to charge for an extra seat, nor to require the young woman to pay for a first class ticket.
“Qatar finally gave in, and they agreed that I would take the trip, my mother and I, as I had bought it, without having to pay the fine and without having to pay for the extra seat”, explained the young woman to Instagram Stories.

After sharing the situation on social media, Juliana received support from digital influencers, and her videos were widely shared on different profiles. The posts had a tone of indignation at the airline’s disrespect.
“I was extremely humiliated in front of all the people at the airport! All because I’m fat! What a shame that a company like Qatar allows this kind of discrimination against people! I’m fat, but I’m just like everyone else. It’s not fair buy my ticket and be humiliated, threatened and prevented from flying!” wrote Juliana in her profile.
On the afternoon of this Thursday the 24th, he posted stories already inside the plane.
“I’d like to thank everyone who helped me. I’m lost for words, I can’t thank you, I’m just saying I’ll pray for everyone,” she said, before taking off.
Juliana should arrive in São Paulo on Friday the 25th.
