Farofa: GKay wears a mirror dress from Dove Bag brand

If you think that what is seen as runway madness can’t be used in real life, you might change your mind. Comedian and influencer GKay proves otherwise. Of course, GKay’s three-day party called Farofa, which celebrates his birthday, isn’t a yardstick for any fashion rule. And last night was no different. The hostess opened the event in a mirror dress, yes, in the literal sense of the word.

The piece is signed by JW Anderson and was presented in September at London Fashion Week. It is an object in the shape of a convex mirror, which reflects everything and everyone around it. Styled by Daniel Ueda, GKay completed the look with a metal choker and ball earrings in the same material. On the feet, white slippers, like a cloud.

The JWAnderson brand brought a 90s aesthetic to the runway, including a dress with a knotted plastic weave down the side, with a fish print underneath, reminiscent of the fish sold at amusement parks; arcade elements, dolphin-shaped screensavers and that mirrored dress, whose shape also resembles a mouse. The piece can be the center of attention at a party, but it must be very uncomfortable, because it doesn’t allow you to stretch your arms comfortably.

The branding is the same as the dove-shaped bag, which GKay recently wore on several occasions, including during Paris Fashion Week in September. The purse, however, was broken by his friend, influencer Lucas Rangel, after the comedian lent it to her. Detail: it costs about R$ 5 thousand.

On the first day of Farofa da Gkay, Monday (5), the influencer wore two equally captivating looks. The first of the Schiparelli brand, with references to the sun.

On day two, she arrived at the event wearing a dress from the Germanier brand, which uses recycled products to create its pieces. The look was created in collaboration with Brazilian Gustavo Silvestre, who works with inmates, ex-convicts, transgenders and refugees, at Projeto Ponto Firme, making and teaching crochet work.

The other look of the second evening was a bodysuit with 25,000 crystals, worn with a glittery dress by the US brand Area and with shorts by the same brand.
