Besides your preferences, there are other things to keep in mind.
Deciding on the best dining table for your home is a very important and crucial step in making your home more visual and functional.

And the process of finding the perfect model for you must take into account the size of the space and the number of people you usually receive. Here you will find that some models are better suited to certain conditions, take a look:
rectangular tables

Since most dining rooms are also rectangular, this model is the most common. Perfect option to accommodate more than four guests, especially if you can extend the length – for additional guests.

It is recommended that the present table Width from 91cm to 1.06m. Narrower rectangles can work well in small rooms, but ones smaller than 91cm are not recommended, as it can be difficult to adjust cutlery to either side and position food.
If you prefer a narrower design, consider placing the meal on a sideboard or buffet table so guests can help themselves before sitting down.
square tables

Square spaces are best with a square piece, especially if you don’t have a large group most of the time. The style is nice two or three people, providing privacy. Otherwise, with a larger table, the space can feel cold.

For special moments and with many visits, a model that allows for expansion is a good solution, or opt for two square tables grouped together to create a larger rectangular seating arrangement.
Panel discussion

The round dining table is another possibility for a smaller or square room, as well as being one of the best formats for small meetings – since everyone can see each other, conversations are easy and the environment more welcoming and intimate.

Please note that this style is not ideal for big occasions as buying a size up means that whilst you can see others they seem far away and you may have to scream to be heard. Also, most rooms aren’t big enough to accommodate it.
If you prefer this model and think you need to entertain a large number of people from time to time, consider buying an extendable table.
oval table

Much like a rectangular one in almost all of its attributes, visually the oval piece appears to take up less space due to the rounded corners, but this also means it has less surface area. Consider this piece of furniture if you have a tighter or smaller space and ultimately need to receive more people.
