5 hacks to shred chicken and save time in the kitchen

To make flan, flan, fricassê, or sausage, you have to shred the chicken, right? The big question is that many people find this task very tedious and time consuming… But what if we told you that there are some easy tricks and you can shred chicken in minutes? So it is!

We have separated 5 valuable tips that, in addition to being easy, will help you save time in the kitchen. These are tips that you will use whatever you have around the house like appliances, kitchen hammer, pressure cooker and even a fork.

Tricks to easily shred chicken:

Check it out now and put the tips into practice to simplify the preparation of your recipes and save time in the kitchen!

1- Shred the chicken in the pressure cooker:

This method is certainly one of the best known. To shred chicken in a pressure cooker, you need to cook the meat thoroughly. Put enough water in the pan to cover all the meat, leave it on the heat and when the pan starts to sizzle, wait at least another 15 minutes.

Before you start shredding chicken in your pressure cooker, allow it to cool and wait for all the pressure to release. Then remove all the water and close the pan again.

The third and final step is to shake the pan very hard (in up and down motions)! In this way, when you go to open the pan again, the chicken will already be all in pieces. Very simple and practical, right?

2- Using a fork to shred the chicken:

Shredding the chicken with a fork is a very simple method, but it takes a little more time than the one mentioned above, since the process is entirely manual.

To begin, wait for the chicken to warm up (so it can be easily shredded), place it on a cutting board, hold the meat in one hand and run a fork over it with the other.

When using this method of shredding chicken, it’s important not to let the meat get too cold or else the process will be a little more difficult as it will harden.

3- Grind the chicken in a blender or food processor:

If you want to shred chicken in a more modern way, you can use a blender or a food processor, after all, both devices are ideal for shredding food. The process is simple, just put the chicken pieces in the blender and blend on low speed. But one important tip is that you really need to shred the chicken on the lowest power or else it could turn to powder.

4- With the kitchen hammer:

Shredding chicken with a kitchen mallet is also very simple. Just cook the meat well, place it on a cutting board, and pound until the chicken starts to fall apart. But this trick will only work well if the meat is well done (and preferably very soft). After shredding with the hammer, season and use as desired!

5- Using the mixer:

Did you know that you can also shred chicken using the mixer? The method is very similar to the pressure cooker method. You will cook the chicken for about 15 minutes and wait for the pressure to ease, the difference is that you will take the chicken (still hot) out of the pan and place it in the mixer bowl.

Season the chicken and make sure it’s well cooked and boneless, so you don’t ruin your appliance! Then just turn the mixer on to medium speed and increase as the chicken breaks down.

If you prefer, you can use the high speed to shred the chicken faster, just let it hit straight for about 1 minute. That’s it, your chicken will already be shredded and ready to be used!
