President-elect and graduate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva began his procession with a parade in an open car on the Esplanada dos Ministérios aboard the government’s Rolls-Royce during the inauguration ceremony of his third term. The first lady Rosangela Silva ‘Janja’ wore a beige look designed by the stylist Helô Rocha, the same one who made her wedding dress, and created in collaboration with embroiderers from Timbaúba (PE). Lu Alckmin, on the other hand, opted for a white look.

A few minutes before the start of the procession, there were still doubts about the PT’s participation in the parade. He chose to follow tradition. Also in the vehicle are the first lady, Rosangela Silva ‘Janja’, and the vice president Geraldo Alckmin and his wife, Lu Alckmin. Lula, 77, will have the sociologist Rosangela Silva, Janja, by her side.

Safety is a major theme at Lula’s inauguration events this Sunday 1. A 31-year-old man was arrested by the Federal District Military Police for attempting to enter the inauguration ceremony with a knife and fireworks.
