Polenta is a typical recipe from Italy, but it has conquered Brazilian cuisine. Thanks to its versatility, you can use it as an accompaniment to various dishes. With it you can hide it, innovate in fillings, cut it into strips and fry it anyway… Polenta will somehow bring you good memories!

Polenta with minced meat

Weather: 1h30

Performance: 6 portions

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cornmeal (tea)
  • 8 cups of water (tea)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 cubes of chicken broth

Roof

  • 1/2 cup olive oil (tea)
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 500 g of minced meat
  • 1 can of prepared tomato sauce
  • Seasoning of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped green olives
  • 50 g of grated parmesan for dusting

Method of preparation:

  1. In a bowl, mix the cornmeal with 2 (tea) cups of water and set aside.
  2. In a pan put the rest of the water, the butter, the chicken broth and bring to the boil for 10 minutes or until boiling.
  3. Add the reserved cornmeal to the water, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes or until it begins to boil and no longer makes poultices.
  4. Cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, place on a rectangular plate, level well and set aside.
  5. In another pan put the olive oil, the garlic, the onion and fry for 5 minutes, or until it begins to brown.
  6. Add the meat, brown for 5 minutes, add the tomato puree, the ready seasoning, the olives and brown for another 10 minutes or until a thick sauce is formed.
  7. Remove from the heat, spread the polenta over it and sprinkle with the Parmesan.
  8. Serve immediately.
