Cozy bedroom in a studio: 11 inspiring examples

How do you find a place to sleep in a small room that serves as several rooms at once – a living room, bedroom, office, and maybe even a kitchen? Experts say that with proper planning, creating a secluded space for relaxation is not difficult – without the construction of fixed structures. And here are some good examples.

Behind the canopy

The easiest way to hide a sleeping place is to hang curtains. With their help, you can zone and recombine the space in seconds, which cannot be done when installing complex and heavy structures.

Behind the screen

Sleek screens will help provide bed privacy and privacy. It can be elegant and light structures that let in light, or strong and deaf partitions that completely separate the bed from the rest of the space.

hidden storage

A folding bed is a real salvation for a studio apartment, where every square meter counts. During the day, the mattress can be hidden in a box attached to the wall, and in the evening, you can install it on other furniture, such as a low sofa or a pouf.

We build walls

Installing a full wall inside a small room is not the best idea. Such a fixed partition usually blocks access to natural light, making the room dark and uncomfortable. Another thing is a pier no more than a meter high. It can also be used as a headboard, shelf and TV cabinet.

Bed-podium

By placing the bed on a raised platform, you separate the sleeping area both visually and practically. Additional storage boxes can be integrated into the podium. Interior designers are advised to place the podium at the window. In addition, the curtains will help hide the sleeping place.

New century furniture

For the arrangement of small rooms with high ceilings, experts recommend using modern furniture systems that allow you to use the maximum usable space vertically. For this project, a multi-level structure was created with a workplace on the lower level and a sleeping area on the upper level. A nice bonus is a folding bed for guests in front of the office.

color scheme

If it is not possible to actually separate the bedroom from the living room, try to do it nominally – with the help of color. It is not necessary to use very contrasting shades. It is enough to choose two colors that are close to each other, but differ by several tones.

Two in one

For this project, a structure was made that simultaneously performs the functions of a sleeping and working place. The mattress, located on the podium, is hidden from prying eyes with the help of an add-on that conveniently houses a TV and shelves. This is an excellent example of the competent use of space, where not a single centimeter was wasted.

For the bravest

For those who are not afraid of experiments (and heights!), the architects suggest moving the bed… up to the ceiling. This way you use the space vertically and make room for a spacious living room. Just make sure that the area under the bed is well lit.

Behind the sliding doors

As an element separating the bed from the living room, you can use sliding doors, for example, from the PAX wardrobe from the IKEA brand. This is a stylish studio solution that effectively zones a small area. The sleeping area can also accommodate additional shelves and storage shelves.

Everyone up!

A good solution for a bedroom with a high ceiling is the installation of a loft bed. In this project, the bed is located above the kitchen and dining area. Pay attention to the steps? They have an integrated storage system for crockery and kitchen accessories.
