The two seasons were recorded in the hotels of the Canadian Four Seasons chain
The series The White Lotus, of HBO, awakens passions since the first season: intrigue, power relations, betrayals, murders, fine irony and stunning scenarios. In the two seasons of this satire on the super rich, the backdrop was two Canadian hotels Four Seasons.
In the first, the story takes place at the Four Seasons Resort Maui, Hawaii. In the second season, the chosen one was the Palazzo San Domenico, in Taormina, Sicily, built in the 14th century as a convent. Practically perched on Ionian Seathe place has enough features to please Tanya (played by the hilarious Jennifer Coolidge) and company: infinity pool, ocean views Mount Etna and for the Ancient theaterspa, beauty salon, Michelin restaurant and maximalist designer decor Vincent Dascanio.
The hotel has 111 rooms in 15 categories, and because it used to be a monastery, some units can be downright tiny. Instead, there are rooms that are immobile like number 206, a Junior Suite that you can see in the video below. Feel yourself alone: private pool, courtyard, orchard and a view like that. The daily rate is approximately R$ 20 thousand.
See below for another even bigger setup:
THE Palazzo San Domenico it has three refreshment points: the restaurant Prince Cerami, led by Michelin-starred chef Massimo Mantaro, it celebrates classic Sicilian cuisine. THE Cloister Bar, who works in the old cloister, serves drinks, snacks and was the piano bar where several bafões took place during the series. Breakfast, the only meal included in the rate, is served at the old, on the pool terrace.
And you may be wondering: what about the beach? The sea is not just a stone’s throw from the hotel, as the series may have implied. Taormina was built on top of a cliff and it will take around 20 minutes by taxi from the hotel to one of the partner lidos of the Four Seasons. For 2023 the hotel plans to open a beach base with spa.
