If you use social networks like TikTok or Instagram you will have come across the publications of a nice lady, who always starts her videos with an invitation: “Guys, shall we have lunch?”. Soon after she surprises the audience with huge pans, full of food, which make anyone’s mouth water, either for the melted rice, or for the beans that fall apart. She is Eleni Moretti68 years old, success on social networks.

Born in Franca, a city in the hinterland of São Paulo, Eleni worked with her family in a shoe industry. But the company closed during the pandemic and, in order to find a break in everyday life, she began to devote herself to social networks. She worked really well: on Instagram, Eleni is followed by more than 750,000 people. On TikTok, which is today the main network of São Paulo, there are already more than 2.6 million followers and 60 million likes.

“Aside from modesty, I’ve always cooked well, I’ve always liked it, and I’ve always been well liked. A friend was over at the house and said she’d make an Instagram for me. I denied it at the time, but eventually the she created it anyway and I took a picture at Sunday lunch. Since then I’ve started posting often, it’s been a success”, Eleni tells taste. “Today, I have more than 4.3 million followers across four networks: TikTok, Instagram, Kwai and YouTube.”

Eleni: videos that captivate by simplicity

Interestingly, Eleni’s videos do not call attention to a certain complexity. On the contrary: they are successful precisely because of their simplicity and because they approach people’s routine directly. Eleni doesn’t create artificial scenarios, and posts on social media even when tomato sauce splashes on the wall and makes a mess.

Everything, according to her, is very much homemade. “My son Danilo helps me with the shoot. I organize the ingredients for the recipe, chop everything, separate it. He records it, then edits it and we publish it on social networks. It’s a lot of work, but it worked out well”, Eleni explains. By the way, “just right” is an understatement: Not only does she have a large audience, but Eleni is also forming partnerships with big companies, from snack bars to paint manufacturers.

Much of this also comes from Eleni’s recollection of when she first came into contact with cooking. “I learned to cook from a very young age, when I was 7. My mother got sick, she stayed in bed. I learned from my grandmother, they were afraid my mother would die and it was me, my father and my younger brother. cheers,” he says. “I’ve always liked cooking. If there’s a secret to cooking well, it’s doing it with love, having fun cooking. With this, your dishes are unlikely to be bad. My favorite is good country chicken”.

How to choose the menu of the day?

The choice of the theme of the video, which is the food he will prepare for the family that day, varies a lot. And this is evident in those who accompany the housewife and content creator on a daily basis: there is everything from fluffy rice, flaky beans and a salad that Eleni probably won’t eat, to Portuguese cake, stewed meat and moqueca.

«In the menu we try to diversify a lot, we make simple recipes, then we make more elaborate ones, with low cost and also high cost ingredients. Savory recipes, desserts, appetizers, snacks, etc.», explains Eleni. What about the huge quantities, which attract attention? “I really like cooking for people. It’s very pleasant, so I don’t care about the amount of dishes and pans that get dirty,” says the influencer. “The house is full, there is my husband, my 3 children, daughters-in-law and son-in-law who always eat here”.
