Lisa Kudrow made her first Emmy Awards red carpet appearance in seven years on Sunday, arriving at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles with her 28-year-old son, Julian Stern. It was Kudrow's first time at the ceremony since 2019.

Kudrow is nominated at the 2026 Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for playing Valerie Cherish in the third season of HBO's The Comeback, and she is also recognized for her work as a writer on the show. She will compete for the award against Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, Ayo Edebiri for The Bear, Elle Fanning for Margo's Got Money Troubles, and previous winner Jean Smart for Hacks.

For the outing, the 63-year-old actress wore a sleek all-black gown paired with a matching blazer. Julian, her son with husband Michel Stern, complemented her in a classic black suit.

A Rare Red Carpet Return
This year's ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, marked Kudrow's first Emmys appearance since 2019, though she has been recognized by the Television Academy multiple times over the years, including previously for The Comeback.

Kudrow was nominated for the first two seasons of the HBO sitcom, which aired more than a decade apart, in 2005 and 2014. She has never won for the role, but she became an Emmy winner nearly three decades ago, taking home the trophy in 1998 for playing Phoebe Buffay on Friends. Kudrow has now received 16 Emmy nominations across her career, and her latest nods for The Comeback carry extra weight, as they come for the show's final season.

Kudrow's Reaction to the Nomination
After learning of her nomination in July, Kudrow shared her gratitude in a statement. "This is a very big, very meaningful honor to be nominated for Valerie and for the writing Michael Patrick King and I did," she said. "Huge."
