Amber Eggers, who appeared on season two of the reality series Love After Lockup, has died at the age of 41.

What is acute liver failure

According to the Mayo Clinic, acute liver failure is the loss of liver function that happens quickly, within days or weeks, usually in a person with no preexisting liver disease. The nonprofit medical center says it is most often caused by a hepatitis virus or by drugs such as acetaminophen, the generic name for the brand-name medication Tylenol.

Eggers starred in season two of Love After Lockup, which aired in 2019 on We TV. On the show, she dated Vincent Gonzalez while she was still in prison, and the pair became engaged.

After her release, they tried to make the relationship work but could not get past how awkward it felt being together, and the show documented their eventual breakup.

Love After Lockup and Eggers' TV history

Love After Lockup is a reality series in which couples meet their future spouses for the first time after one partner is released from prison. The show has proven popular and recently completed its seventh season, spawning spinoffs including Life After Lockup and Love During Lockup.

Prison sentence and later arrest

Eggers had served four years in prison for drug trafficking. She largely stayed out of legal trouble after her release, but she was arrested in December 2024.

According to arrest records from The Georgia Gazette, her charges included DUI, possession of an open container of alcohol, failure to maintain a lane, and other traffic violations.

Recent health struggles

Eggers had faced other health problems in recent years. In July, she revealed she had been released from the ICU after suffering what she described as a "mini-stroke," posting a photo of herself outside a restaurant in a hospital gown, flashing a peace sign.

In the spring of 2025, she developed pneumonia that progressed into sepsis and organ failure, putting her on life support before she recovered.
