Married At First Sight bride Bec Zacharia is selling the gold and diamond wedding ring she received from groom Danny Hewitt on the dating series, following their split earlier this year.
Zacharia, 35, shared a clip on Instagram revealing the sale and her plans for the money. “Guys, I’m selling my MAFS diamond wedding ring. I don’t need it, it serves no purpose for me any more,” she said. “What I get for the sale, I am going to donate some of that money to the Animal Welfare League.”
The ring is listed at Simon Curwood for $2,800, though Zacharia said she does not expect to get the full asking price and invited offers through her DMs. “It’s a beautiful ring, it looks beautiful on the finger, but I don’t need it so if anyone wants to buy it, let me know,” she said.
Blindsided at the Altar
The sale follows a dramatic April episode in which Zacharia was dumped by Hewitt during Final Vows. She had arrived at the ceremony convinced the couple had a future together, saying she was “manifesting that it’s going to be the best day ever.”
In her vows, she told Hewitt he was her “best friend” and “safe space” and promised to choose him every day. Hewitt, however, said the “up and down” nature of their relationship would not be a good environment for children, and that time apart before Final Vows had given him clarity.
“As much as it breaks my heart to say this, I felt a weight come off my shoulders, at a time when I should’ve been missing you,” Hewitt said. Zacharia responded with a single word: “Okay.” She then walked off to break down in tears, while Hewitt threw his vows on the ground and said: “That was f***ing brutal.”
