Marina Ruy Barbosa, Flávia Alessandra and Lázaro Ramos were among the stars who walked the red carpet on Friday, August 14, for the opening ceremony and premiere of the film "Antártida" at the Gramado Film Festival in Rio Grande do Sul.
The 54th edition of the festival began on Wednesday, August 12, and runs until August 22. It is screening 74 short and feature films at the Palácio dos Festivais.

Ruy Barbosa, who plays the researcher Inês in "Antártida," wore a white dress with a tulle top and a side opening. The bottom half of the dress was plain and fitted to the body.
Actress Leandra Leal, who plays Marina, a doctor at the research station on the Antarctic continent that gives the film its name, chose a long black dress with long sleeves and a gold detail on one sleeve.

Flávia Alessandra wore an all-red outfit, pairing an elongated blazer with tights and a triangular Saint Laurent bag.
Singer Iza and her boyfriend, actor João Vitor Silva, also attended the opening, alongside Lázaro Ramos and Gabriela Loran.

The Gramado Film Festival is one of Brazil's oldest and best-known film events, held annually in the mountain town of Gramado in Rio Grande do Sul state. Now in its 54th year, the festival runs competitive showcases for Brazilian fiction features, documentaries, national short films, and features and shorts from Rio Grande do Sul, known locally as "gaúcho" productions. It also includes university film showcases, out-of-competition screenings, a series preview and tributes to professionals who have shaped Brazilian cinema.
What comes next at the festival
The festival's schedule continues through the following week with a mix of screenings, press events and tributes. Actor Marcos Caruso is set to receive the Cidade de Gramado trophy on Sunday, August 16, following a press conference earlier that day.
Renata Almeida Magalhães is due to receive the Eduardo Abelin trophy on Tuesday, August 18, after her own press conference. Actor Selton Mello will receive the Kikito de Cristal trophy on Wednesday, August 19, and actress Maria Fernanda Cândido is scheduled to receive the same honor on Thursday, August 20.
The competitive showcase for gaúcho features and Brazilian short films will hold its awards ceremony on Friday, August 21, following an out-of-competition closing screening of "La Perra." The festival concludes on Saturday, August 22, with the awards ceremony for the Brazilian feature film and documentary showcases.
