Melvin Odoom Expecting First Child With Hannah Holland

Melvin Odoom has revealed he is set to become a father for the first time, with his girlfriend Hannah Holland expecting their first child together.

The radio personality, 46, announced the news in an Instagram post on Friday, sharing black and white photographs of Holland, 32, showing off her growing baby bump.

The images showed the couple posing side by side, with Holland wearing jeans and an open white shirt that displayed her bare stomach.

A close-up photo captured the pair's hands entwined as they cradled her bump, while another showed an excited Odoom taking pictures of his girlfriend.

Captioning the post, the former I'm A Celebrity star wrote simply: 'Mum & Dad' alongside a grey heart emoji.

Famous friends react

The announcement drew a wave of congratulations from Odoom's famous friends. Close friend Rochelle Humes wrote: "Couldn't be happier my brother."

Aston Merrygold's wife, Sarah Louise, added: "Oh my goodness Melv the biggest congratulations to you both! Such beautiful news."

Fitness coach Joe Wicks wrote: "Wow mate this is wonderful congratulations", while Vicky Pattison responded: "WHATTTT???? This is unbelievable news, congratulations you guys!!"

Odoom's radio co-star and friend Ricky Haywood-Williams joked: "Can I suggest Rickie for a boy - Rikya for a girl."

How the couple met

Odoom and Holland first met backstage at I'm A Celebrity in 2024 in Australia, where Odoom was a contestant on the ITV reality show while Holland was there for work.

Holland spent time in Australia in her role as chief executive of London-based entertainment agency HLD, which represents GK Barry, who appeared on the same series of the show alongside Odoom.

According to reports, the pair hit it off backstage as Holland watched from the friends and family area of the camp, with Odoom around after being fourth to be voted out of the jungle.

A source told The Sun when news of their romance was first revealed last year: "Melvin and Hannah really hit it off and are incredibly happy together. They're both keen to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, but their chemistry is undeniable. It's now an open secret in the industry - everyone's thrilled for Melvin."

Before meeting Holland, Odoom had spoken of a crush on Carol Vorderman but was left disappointed after she stopped responding when he reached out to her on social media.

The happy news comes shortly after Odoom became one of six DJs to lose their jobs in a major BBC schedule shakeup that will see social media influencers and new talent brought in as replacements.

The station confirmed the departures in an Instagram post in July, announcing that longtime presenters Odoom, Ricky Haywood-Williams, Dean McCullough, Nat O'Leary, James Cusack and Swarzy would be leaving their shows.

The post read: "We thank them for their passion, creativity and dedication and wish them all the very best for whatever comes next."

Haywood-Williams, also 46, and Odoom leave Radio 1 after seven and five years respectively presenting the mid-morning Live Lounge slot alongside co-presenter Charlie Hedges.

Odoom joined the station in 2019, switching from the Kiss Breakfast Show with longtime broadcasting partners Haywood-Williams and Hedges to host Radio 1's late-night slot.

Hedges, 40, will remain at Radio 1 and will present the Live Lounge show with Jeremiah Asiamah, 28, from 10.30am to 1pm on weekdays.
