Former Disney Channel child star Mia Talerico has officially started her senior year of high school at age 17, posting milestone celebration photos on Instagram on Wednesday.
The actress, who portrayed title character Charlie Duncan on the hit sitcom Good Luck Charlie, shared several pictures of herself holding a small chalkboard sign marked "1st Day Senior Year 8.19.26."
Talerico wore a pink shirt and denim shorts for the occasion, smiling in the photos as she commemorated her final first day of grade school. In her post caption, she wrote: "Last First Day! Now i’m starting to feel old #senioryear #firstdayofschool #smile."

Her social media update quickly generated strong reactions from long-time followers who expressed astonishment at her growth since her toddler days on television. One follower commented, "If you feel old, I feel ancient," a response that gathered more than 14,000 likes.

Other users echoed the sentiment under the post. One fan wrote, "I'm old. Like, what? You were just a baby," while another commented, "You kidding?? I feel old. Good luck, Charlie!" A third commenter added, "It feels like it was just yesterday I was watching her on my TV," as another top comment stated, "Charlie is a senior? Damn, we're old."
Fan Reactions and High School Milestones
Talerico has grown accustomed to fans reacting with shock at how fast time has passed since her childhood on screen. Three years ago, when she was 14, she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself holding a sign for her first day of ninth grade.
At the time, she captioned the photo, "Your yearly reminder that [you're] getting old. First day of high school!!!"

Good Luck Charlie aired on the Disney Channel between 2010 and 2014, telling the story of the Duncan family in Denver as they adjusted to the birth of their fourth child. The television show starred Bridgit Mendler as Teddy, Jason Dolley as PJ, Bradley Steven Perry as Gabe, Eric Allan Kramer as Bob, and Leigh-Allyn Baker as Amy Duncan.

The Viral Internet Meme
Talerico is also widely known for a viral meme that originated from an episode of the Disney Channel series. Her hilariously baffled facial expression as a two-year-old character on the show became a popular reaction image online, featuring her alongside co-star Jason Dolley.
The famous image stems from a season two episode titled "Meet The Parents." The scene opens with Charlie calmly drawing with her mother in the living room.

When her father screams for help from the backyard, her mother frantically runs outside to check on him. Before leaving, she yells for her son, Gabe, to watch Charlie.

Gabe fails to show up, leaving Charlie completely by herself. A closeup shot shows Charlie mugging in confusion at the sudden change of pace and the absence of adults, capturing the moment that later turned into a meme.

Upcoming Feature Film
Following her high school milestone, the teen actress is preparing for her next major acting role. Talerico will next appear in the upcoming feature film American Summer, which arrives in movie theaters on September 4.
