Michelle Pfeiffer will no longer take lead movie roles

Michelle Pfeiffer has announced that she no longer plans to star in movies as a lead actress, opting instead for ensemble projects. The 68-year-old actor shared her decision during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Pfeiffer said she is now drawn to projects where attention is shared among multiple characters. She added that working in an ensemble is much more fun and that she does not want to lead a film again.

Shift to television roles

The actor noted that her experience filming the series Margo's Got Money Troubles helped change her perspective on her career. In the show, she plays the mother of a character played by Elle Fanning.

Pfeiffer explained that television currently offers actors the most interesting and multifaceted roles. She praised the performances of women on television, describing them as the best part of TV due to their complex and imperfect characters.

Pfeiffer does not plan to retire from acting entirely. Instead, she intends to focus on roles within strong ensemble casts and step away from being the sole central lead.
