‘Sherlock’ actor Andrew Scott is one of the latest stars to join Cameron Diaz and Jaime Foxx in the new Netflix movie ‘Back in Action’.
As reported Deadline, Scott joins the project with his ‘Fleabag’ co-star Jamie Demetriouwho played Bus Rodent on the acclaimed comedy series.
McKenna Roberts (‘Euphoria’) and rylan jackson (‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’) will also be part of the cast. We had previously known about the incorporation of Kyle Chandler and Glenn Close.
In addition to the fact that it is an action comedy, No further details of the film’s plot have been released yet.
Seth Gordon is in charge of directingwith Jenno Tropping, Peter Chernin and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett producing the project.
Scott is known for his role as Jim Moriarty in the BBC series ‘Sherlock’, for which he won a BAFTA.. Additionally, she earned a Golden Globe nomination and won a Critics Choice Television Award for her work on ‘Fleabag.’
Scott has recently been seen in the medieval film ‘Catherine Called Birdy’ and will appear in ‘Strangers’, alongside Claire Foy and Paul Mescal.
‘Back in Action’ marks Díaz’s return to acting. This is his first film since ‘Sex Tape. Something happens in the Cloud’ (2014).
The actress had spoken (with Gwyneth Paltrow in ‘In Goop Health: The Session’) about his decision to withdraw from actingwith the aim of taking control over his life.
“When you’re making a movie they take over you. You are there 12 hours a day for months. You don’t have time for anything else“he commented.
“I realised that I was abandoning parts of my life for all this. Basically, I had to quit and take responsibility for my life.”
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for ‘Back in Action’.
