While Ryan Reynolds is already gearing up for ‘Deadpool 3’, where Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine, another favorite actor from the ‘X-Men’ franchise has confirmed that he plans to appear in the film as well.
This is Patrick Stewart, who since 2000 played the role of Charles Xavier or Professor X in his adult version and even appeared in the MCU as the powerful psychic and founder of the X-Men.
In ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (2022) the Charles Xavier who appears is not the same as Fox’s ‘X-Men’ and since he dies at the end of the film, the question arises as to how he could appear in ‘Deadpool’ ‘3’.

‘Deadpool 3’: Patrick Stewart will return as Professor X in the MCU
In an exclusive chat with ComicBook.com on February 9, 2023, Patrick Stewart confirmed that he is in talks with Marvel and specifically Hugh Jackman to appear in ‘Deadpool 3’.
When Stewart refers to being told to expect news, he’s referring to what Jackman has discussed about his return as Wolverine with “Logan” director James Mangold and the plot of the film, which is still in production.
In Empire Magazine in January, the actor revealed that he approached Mangold to assure him that the new film would not disrespect Logan’s story and emotional farewell.

Patrick Stewart’s return as Charles Xavier in ‘Deadpool 3’ explained
This timeline in which “Deadpool 3” takes place also makes possible the return of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, who has appeared in Fox movies and died in “Logan.”
The little information that has emerged about the film’s plot suggests that the story will involve the multiverse and also time travel, so Deadpool could finally interact with the rest of the X-Men.
In a December 2022 appearance on SiriusXM, Hugh Jackman confirmed that thanks to the multiverse and time travel device of ‘Deadpool 2’, the possibilities are endless and this allows them not to change what was seen in ‘Logan’.
Stewart could appear as Professor X and order Logan to accompany Wade Wilson on a special mission, in what would feel like Ryan Reynolds’ original story for Deadpool 3 before Disney bought Fox.
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to begin filming in May 2023 and will be part of the MCU’s Phase 6 in the Multiverse Saga. Its premiere is expected on November 8, 2024.
