And it’s not just about the image and 3D, the production design and music promise that these 13 years of waiting will have been worth it.
Surely you thought that this moment would never come. 13 years after Avatar became the unbeaten highest grossing film in history, we are finally going to see something of the first of its four sequels, and the result is so impressive that many have pointed out the December 16, when it will be released Avatar 2, as the date of a new milestone at the box office.
The trailer of Avatar: The Water Sense has been attached to the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness what can be seen from May 6but dozens of critics and journalists around the world have already had access to it, on the big screen and in 3D, and all agree that it is visually “stunning”.
It’s not going to take anyone by surprise considering that James Cameron has taken technology to a new level in every movie he’s made since. Terminators 2 and especially with the first installment of Avatar, that briefly revived the fashion of 3D cinema, but many wondered if the mammoth project of the four sequels could make sense. Has technology been able to improve so much that so many movies about Pandora are worth it? Judging by the comments, yes. Who knows if this time James Cameron will return 3D to theaters forever.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about the reactions to the trailer is that they are not only focused on the visual aspect, but they also coincide in how powerful James Horner’s score is once again accompanying Pandora’s vitas. The composer passed away in 2015 and has not been able to work on the films, but we will meet his music again, extended by composer Simon Franglen.
Of the plot, on the other hand, the trailer does not give much information. The absolute protagonist of the video is the world of Pandora, especially the underwater environment where it will take place. Avatar: The Water Sense, and takes great care to show more details of the story. So we will still have to wait to see the new characters in action.
We know, however, that Avatar: The Water Sense is set a decade after the first film and that nwill tell the story of Jake, Neytiri and their children. We will surely know more when the next trailers are released. Based on these reactions, waiting until December 16 it will have been worth it.
Also: saw the #Avatar2 trailer. Not overly impressed with the footage itself (was really hoping for some new visual that took my breath away and gave me that Avatar 1 hype) – but the music and the visuals did excite me and make me want a return to the world more than I expected. pic.twitter.com/mhdRRoVvr0

The trailer of #Avatar2 It looks like a trillion-dollar mega-documentary of imaginary marine fauna. The classic expensive 3D movie that they put on in zoos. 13 years have passed and the logo is still in the Papyrus font, so everything is in order. #TheSenseOfWater pic.twitter.com/3TAAv0Cywb
