Prisoner Island on France 2: Is the series adapted from a novel by Michel Busse?

This Monday, February 13, 2023, France 2 will present to its viewers the series L’Île burgnière from 9:10 p.m. Here, the public lands on an untroubled island until twenty armed activists arrive and trap all the residents in the village school.

An island invaded by activists

Alpha, their leader, has everything planned, except that the shuttle connecting Penhick to the mainland eludes them, allowing its five passengers to hide on the island. Who are these activists? Why are the residents of Penhick in custody? Who among them will become heroes, cowards or traitors? Who is the stranger on the shuttle, returning after a ten-year absence?

In the casting, we find Pierre Perrier (Fear on the Lake), Lanique Gautrée (Aspiration for the Heart), Deborah Francois (Save Lisa), Antoine Duler (Almost) Perfect Love) or even Margot Bansillon (The Invitation) in the main roles.

But that’s not all, as they also answer Kevin Azais (Laëtitia), Anouk Greenberg (Innocent), Marie Denarno (HPI) and newcomers Jane Cara and Diego Murgia.

Michelle Buss’s first original series

Prisoners’ Island was created by the successful writer Michel Bussey. He co-wrote six fascinating parts of this story with Christian Clare. In realization we find Elsa Bennet and Hippolyte Dard. But is the series an adaptation of one of the author’s works?

As he told us during the 2022 Festival Series Mania, this highly anticipated fiction is actually his first original series: “I was already working with France 2, which often took on projects to adapt my series. And I quickly realized that they wanted to be the first to have an original idea for television.

Michel Bussey continued:So I came up with this story they didn’t expect: a Breton island held hostage by activists. is it an army terrorists? What do you want? No one knows. (…) I think France 2 dreamed of an action series and they delivered (…) I am very satisfied with the result.

After mixed public reception for the television adaptations of the novels Maman a tort, Un avion sans elle and Le temps est assassin, what will the verdict be for Prisoner Island?
