Un Si Grand Soleil: “Ulysse and Bilal will have to overcome the test” shows Maxens Victor

Allocine: What drew you to the role of Ulysses, this somewhat tortured artist who arrived Such a big sun A few months ago and quickly joined Alix?

Maxens Victor: This character speaks volumes to me. I have not been an actor for long. I started four years ago, and doubt obviously remains omnipotent for me, so I understand a little bit what Ulysses is going through.

And besides, I have a great character, I feel very lucky. Production made me a wonderful workshop. I see so many different sets, I’m pretty spoiled. And then we have a good laugh with Malik (Malik Elakehal El Miliani), who plays Bilal. Even though I’m not gay in real life, I have no problem doing kissing scenes. We both try to believe as much as we can and have fun.

Originally, Ulysses arrived in Un Si Grand Soleil as part of a narrative arc. So you didn’t know the character was destined to appear later?

No, it’s true, I only came to one plot and I didn’t know if I would come back or not. That said, the casting was serious, so it felt pretty good for this character. I just think the writers weren’t quite sure what direction they were going to take with Ulysses. They were on several tracks.

What can you tell us about what’s next for your character in the next episodes?

Seeing that the vein of false paintings is going well, Ulysses, who is under Brenna, continues to definode. So he uses fakes to get revenge on his ex, Chalini, who completely reduced his exposure. It’s also a way for Alix (Nadia Fossier) and Hélène (Sophie Le Tellier) to ensure Ulysses stays in this new project.

But at the same time, Helen is obsessed with and also manipulated by Christian, the art dealer she frequents. This is a small sprinkler watered.

At the same time, Ulises saw the beginning of a love affair with Bilal, whom he met at Alix’s gallery. How will things develop between them?

Things will go further between them. Ulises laments to Bilal about his failed career. He tells her how he loves colors and that painting is his whole life. He also tells her that he dreamed of breaking through to use color or discovering something like Klein’s blue. Right after that, Bilal will propose to Ulises Ferri to create together. They will create a new shade of red.

Is Ulysses destined to stay in the series long-term?

I do not know. It is the artistic direction of Un Si Grand Soleil and the screenwriters who decide. For now, all I can say is that the current Ark ends very well for Ulysses. So I imagine the writers will have ideas for him to run into problems later on. Because things won’t end well for Odysseus what he did.

And then there’s the love story of Bilal and Ulises, which could easily go on. In the next episodes, they will have to overcome the test as Bilal discovers that Ulises has cheated on him. But their couple will survive all this and it will even strengthen the bond between them.

The writers may also want to give Bilal a long love story. In terms of representation, it’s important to have a gay couple in the series…

absolutely. A daily newspaper should represent everyone. So we can hope that this couple will last.
