Alibi.com 2 by Philip Lashaw
With Philippe Lachaux, Elodie Fontan, Tarek Budal…
Sylvia Christel with reference

A central theme of the film was that Gregg’s parents are not presentable, Philip Lachaux imagined that his mother was the epitome of 80s and 90s glamour. Thus, his reference was Silvia Christel, the star of the erotic films Emanuela:
“But we had to stay within the framework of eroticism and not fall into something vulgar. To avoid this, we thought of Ariel from the casting, whose personality immediately evokes the image of elegance and delicious eccentricity.”
“Ariel is a beautiful woman who embraces her little quirks and her natural change. Whatever she does or says, it never becomes embarrassing or embarrassing. I reassured her that it was a comedy and that everything would be offered.”– says the film director.
First profitable opus

Released in 2017, Alibi.com did very well at the box office after the comedy reached 3.6 million releases in France. It’s the 9th biggest hit of the year, behind Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, Despicable Me 3, Mad Raid, Coco, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Baby Boss, Fast and Furious 8 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge.
The birth of the project

Before choosing to focus the story on Greg’s parents, whom he dares not introduce to Flo and his future son-in-law, Philip Lachaux and his co-writers considered all the options. Reason ? They did not want to disappoint the many viewers who liked the first opus:
After the Alibi.com agency closed its doors at the end of the original movie, we had to find the right reason to get Greg to open it. Some of the ideas we’ve discussed have emotionally torn us apart from Flo’s family and the couple. He trains with Greg, so we left them.”
“As we witnessed the meeting of Greg and Flo in the first part, it was only natural that they were married in the second part, and from this ceremony we begin to imagine what could harm his preparation and the smooth running of it.The director recalls and continues:
“That’s where the idea came from that Greg’s parents really aren’t presentable and that they risk ruining the best day of Flo’s life. The only solution Greg finds is to reopen the agency one last time, letting the fake parents know about Flo and her future. Son-in-law.”
Bouncy Castle Prank

The rampage of the castle, whose air pump fails and which ends in an explosion, throwing the child into the garden next door, was the most difficult solution. Philippe Lachaux says:
“We put the little boy’s double in the cannon and when we shot it, the neighbors who didn’t know what we were doing were scared because it really looked like a child flying in the air! There is a bit of adjustment to the stroke strength, very strong at first, but after a few tries the decoy was sitting in the right place!”
Updated fight sequence

Philip Lachaux shot the fight scene between Greg’s parents. In it, Apolline is furious that her ex-husband slept with his best friend, slams the bathroom door, and then reaches out to grab Gerard’s underwear, which he’s about to take off. A chance to turn a blind eye to The Shining as Jack Nicholson breaks down a door with an axe.
The director recalls: “But every step is so problematic that it didn’t work. So we reworked the scene where Ariel drags Gerard across the floor while he tries to dig his fingernails into the parquet to hold himself up. That little comma lets you parody it. Horror movie clichés, But simpler and more dynamic. And audiences respond well to watching it.”
