    “It is, in its essence, a mystery film,” remarks Stein, the director and screenwriter responsible for the film, an adaptation of a short film of the same name that he shot in 2013 and which already promised us a new filmmaker to continue within the cinema of terror to be nominated for the Golden Méliès for the best European fantastic short film. “And there is nothing more mysterious than the mind of a child.”

    The plot introduces us to Lola (Milena Smith), a young woman who has lost her faith in God after losing her babies. Together with her husband Adolfo (Jaime Lorente), she goes to a convent where they meet Tin and Tina, two seven-year-old brothers for whom she feels an immediate attraction. Despite Adolfo’s reluctance, they decide to adopt them only to discover that their religious games are more macabre than they seem.

    “Children live in their own real world with their own rules and beliefs. Trying to understand their actions and intentions can be very difficult at times. This is why I have always loved movies about enigmatic children,” says the filmmaker. “My goal as a director is for the viewer, when leaving the cinema, to have the sensation of having experienced an original, unique, sometimes funny and sometimes terrifying journey, to a Spain of the past that reverberates in the present through childhood, family, religion and the limits of good and evil”.

    The soundtrack is provided by Jocelyn Pook, responsible for the original music of ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ (1999)one of Stanley Kubrick’s best films, and other well-known titles such as ‘The Merchant of Venice’ (Michael Radford, 2004), ‘Chaotic Ana’ (Julio Medem, 2007), ‘The Good Wife’ (2017) and ‘ The Staircase’ (Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, 2018), available in the Netflix series catalog.

    ‘Tin & Tina’ is produced by Olmo Figueredo González-Quevedo for La Claqueta PC and Tin y Tina AIE, in co-production with FilmGate Miami (USA) and Andarams Films (Romania). It is executive produced by Sara Gómez and Paola Sainz de Baranda and with the participation of Netflix and Canal Sur Radio y Televisión, with the support of ICAA and the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions and with the collaboration of Latido Films. Filmax distributes the film in Spain.
