HBO Max has just released the first teaser for the Love & Death miniseries. The drama, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons, tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Alan Gore, two couples who enjoy life in a quiet small Texas town until an extramarital affair leads to the ax…
This someone is Candy Montgomery, played by Elizabeth Olsen. She will portray the role of Jessica Biel, who previously starred in Candy: Murder in Texas. This particularly gruesome piece of news made Atlantic headlines in the 1980s. This housewife, a figure in her community, was accused of brutally murdering a woman, her lover, with 41 blows of an ax.
Love & Death is helmed by the producers of Big Little Lies and The Undoing and created by David E. Kelly, who is never as good as when he’s dealing with a broken and bloody fate. The first images, very promising, show Candy Montgomery in the perfect “housewife” pose, bored and taking Alan Gore (Jesse Plemons) as her lover. We see his face covered in blood right after the tragedy.
The cast also includes Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Krysten Ritter, Tom Pelfrey, Keir Gilchrist and Elizabeth Marvel. While series from HBO’s catalog have found a new broadcast on Prime Video through Warner Pass, which was set to be installed next month, Prime Video could not confirm whether Love & Death will be distributed on the streaming platform.
