NCIS Hawaii on M6: Where was the series filmed?

M6 begins airing NCIS Hawaii this Saturday night, a spin-off from the hit franchise NCIS: Special Investigations. Created by Christopher Silber and Ian Nash, who previously produced NCIS: New Orleans, as well as Matt Bosack (screenwriter on SEAL Team), this third spin-off of the iconic series follows a new team of special agents on the job. At the Pearl Harbor office, in the heart of the Hawaiian Paradise Islands.

Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey), a single mother torn between her personal life and professional life, leads the NCIS Peal team with an iron fist, consisting of agents Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant), Jesse Boone (Noah Mills), Lucy Tara. (Yasmin Al-Bustami) and Ernie Malik (Jason Antoon).

Where was the series filmed?

As the title of the series suggests, NCIS: Hawaii was filmed on the islands of the Hawaiian archipelago. The location, which the American channel CBS did not choose by chance, since it had a studio on the spot.

Filming is taking place on the set of Hawaii 5-0, another series on the channel that was canceled in 2020 at the end of its 10th season. So the production decided to reuse the building to film NCIS: Hawaii.

Outdoor scenes were shot on various islands in the archipelago, with the teams enjoying paradise. Some of the footage was shot at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, a US military base near Honolulu.

The island of Oahu, as well as Waikiki Beach, a very touristy area in Honolulu, became the location for several scenes, as was Kualoa Ranch, which is known to have hosted the Jurassic Park crew.

Catch the first two episodes of NCIS: Hawaii this Saturday, February 18 from 9.10pm on M6.
