One of the most daring sequels of the UCM.
Paul Rudd has explained why ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, the latest installment in the franchise and the first of Marvel’s Phase 5, it is so different from the other movies.
In an interview with ‘Digital Spy’, Rudd explained that all the credit goes to the villain of the movie, Kang the Conqueror, the new great Marvel villain played by Jonathan Majors.
“This is the good thing about great villains, that you can understand his point of view. Thanos had it too, he’s a psycho, but I sort of get what he’s saying. Shooting those scenes with Jonathan was great. It was kind of cool because this is the third and obviously the villain in this one is huge, it’s no joke“, said.
Rudd praised Jonathan Majors, praising his acting skills and the way he transformed into Kang during filming.
“Jonathan He is a great actorhe had his own pace and everything felt a bit like he was in control, the shoot was different and he was a bit on the scales because of the constant back and forth between Scott and Kang,” he said.
“There was a feeling of freshness when we got to act together in our scenes. I said to myself, ‘I can’t imagine anyone else playing this role, he’s doing great'”he added.
Considering that ‘Ant-Man 3’ is the first movie of Phase 5, and that it basically kicks off the next Avengers saga that will lead to ‘The Kang Dynasty’, is Ant-Man now? the leader of the Avengers?
“It’s great that Ant-Man is the one to take on Kang and kick off this whole thing. It was really exciting to know that we were the ones to introduce this guy and I know what a big role he’s going to play in the future.” Rudd said. Something that is evident in the crazy ending of ‘Ant-Man 3’, with which Kang’s multiverse begins in Marvel.
