Truth If I Lie 4: Are there any plans for a new sequel?

The successful franchise, La Vérité si je mens, the first three episodes of which ran from 1997 to 2012, has grossed over 17 million copies alone! So it is not surprising that in 2019 a new film was presented.

Released in October 2019, Truth or False: The beginnings had the feature of forcing us to find the film’s senior characters, but also a younger version of their characters to tell us about their meeting.

However, these new adventures did not have the success that the movie team expected. The feature film gathered a little over 200,000 curious people, far from the previous parts of a few million.

Given this frustrating outcome, it is currently unlikely that a new sequel will be launched in the near future and no echo will suggest an extension. Saga team is mobilized with other projects as well. Thomas Gilo, the director of the franchise’s first three films, has just been filmed as a director of Retirement Home and it will not be a surprise if he returns to Nursing Home 2, a project that is currently underway.

Manuel Munz, co-director of the fourth film, The Truth if I Lie: The Beginnings, continues his career as a producer. He is especially running Happy Retirement 2, which will be released this summer. He will also shoot a film inspired by the story of navigator Florence Arto called Flo. The latter is played by actor Stephen Caylar. Filming is scheduled for this summer, between Paris, Brittany, Cტte d’Azur, Guadeloupe and Cape Town, South Africa. The film will be directed by Geraldine Dunn, based on a screenplay based on a biography of Florence Arto written by Ian Kefelek in 2020.
