A Mocidade Alegre was the great champion of Sao Paulo Carnival. The school won its 11th title in 2023, after going nine years without winning the trophy, but always hitting beam. It was with that scream stuck in their throats that fans and members filled the school grounds in the North Zone.
“It’s an indescribable emotion. There was a lot of unity, we brought an incredible texture. We managed to carry this cup after 9 years. That scream stuck in our throats,” said the queen of drums, Aline de Oliveira , directly from the school court.
