Starsky and Hutch: One of the actors of the cult series wants to play in the reboot

Last week, Deadline announced that the iconic 70s series will soon be returning to television. Fox is indeed working on a female version of Starsky & Hutch, written by Sam Sclaver (The Prodigal Son) and Elizabeth Peterson (The Resident).

This modern reinterpretation of the series, hosted by Paul Michael Glazer and David Soule, follows two female detectives, Sasha Starsky and Nicole Hutchinson. Two friends solve a crime in Desert City while trying to find out who sent their fathers to prison for a crime they didn’t commit 15 years ago.

And while no name has been announced for casting at this time, there is an actor from the original series who wants to be a part of this new adventure. David Soule, who played Detective Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson, did make it known on Twitter that he wanted to appear in the reboot.

Each article mentions the “original” actors by name. ” So wrote David Soule. “So why don’t you put me and Paul on the job instead of two old geezers solving petty crimes at the nursing home they live in?” Who can take care of Starsky and Hutch better than him and me?

David Soule, now 79, and Paul Michael Glazer have not yet been linked to the project for this new series. Glazer said a few years ago that a Starsky and Hutch reboot might work if the writers didn’t try to recreate the show’s original setting.

Note that the series, created by William Blin, has already been the subject of a movie remake. This new iteration was directed by Todd Phillips (Joker) and co-starred with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
