Toy Story 5: Pixar executive defends ‘unnecessary’ sequel

During an interview with The Wrapthe creative director of pixar explained how much about the narrative and direction Toy Story 5 has not yet been fully defined. That is, the production can surprise the audience by going in unexpected directions.

“What we’re really trying to do, and that’s been the case for a while now, is we look at them a little bit like, okay, we’re not planning ahead. When we did the first one Toy Storywe had no idea there would be a toy story 2. We’re just trying to make this movie,” said the executive in the conversation.

“But in making the film, it takes you places, unexpected places, which is something I love about the creative process,” he continued. Pete Doctor. “If I knew exactly what I was doing when I started making a film, it wouldn’t make sense to do it. I discover so much along the way.”
