Season 3 of The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ in a week, and your kids have probably heard about it. Always interested in viral phenomena – and the Star Wars series is clearly one of them – they really want to discover the adventures of Dean Jarrin (Pedro Pascal), a lonely fortune hunter in the far reaches of the galaxy.
Why do kids want to see this?
Acclaimed from all quarters, the Mandalorian series immediately found its audience and convinced Star Wars fans from the beginning. And for good reason! Not only does the series fit perfectly into the Star Wars legacy – whose films celebrated the youth of an entire generation – it also has a weapon the size of…
Of course, this is the one that fans immediately nicknamed Baby Yoda, and who we learned in season two is called Grogu. This cute little thing with its big black eyes will melt even the most hardened hearts. Yes, Dean Jarrin, we’ve seen you let yourself soften under the helmet!
And even without your helmet!
You’ll be seeing animated gifs of Grogu, cuter than ever, all over the web and in your networks, playing with a button on the dashboard of Dean Jarrin’s ship. You see him next in his cradle, his little face peeking out from behind his shirt. And you are laughing… (don’t deny it, we heard.)
And yet, as cute as it is, Grogu belongs in a series that is clearly not intended for a younger audience. We will explain.
Why is The Mandalorian not suitable for young children?
First of all, when you have any doubts about the transmission of products on Disney+, you can simply refer to the platform, which always indicates the minimum recommended age for its content. There is no room for uncertainty here. The Mandalorian has been announced 14 years and older.
If you look at the concept of the series, you will immediately notice that The Mandalorian takes on Western codes. We note a visually darker tone than usual in Star Wars productions, which emphasizes this armed bandit side, which can arise at any time and draw his pistol.
And indeed, even if the narration is relatively slow, which can quickly bore the youngest viewers, some action scenes can clearly impress or even scare your children. Grog is sought after by every bad guy in the galaxy. The thought of being hunted by the bad guys is enough to cause anxiety in itself.

How can you not crack up in front of this face?!
The feeling can be stronger because even the most sensitive children can have a hard time understanding that such a cute little creature is endangered and a real hunt.
People over the age of 10, in our opinion, can watch the series, but accompanied by their parents. And since not all children over the age of 10 have the same maturity level, I recommend watching the episodes first to anticipate scenes that might scare them, as well as possible questions. And then accompany them while watching. Of course, don’t hesitate to hit the pause button to guess the hot sequence.
But in the end, I assure you, the series is aimed more at you!
