It cannot be said that Grendizer left an indelible mark on an entire generation of viewers, fascinated by the adventures of Prince Actarus and his giant robot from outer space.
After its first broadcast at Récré A2 in July 1978, the animated series delighted fans who sang various titles in playgrounds in the name of the Prince of Euphoria.
Created 48 years ago, the license is more alive than ever. Not only is a new anime set to see the light of day this year, but the franchise is coming back soon in video game form.
Publisher Microïds announces release this year Grendizer: Feast of Wolves. This fighting game follows the first story arc of the animated series, offering you the opportunity to relive the most important moments of the series.
And, just to get it right, the game also includes some of the anime’s iconic musical themes through re-orchestration, further enhancing the immersion.
The title must be combined in several phases of the game, from Shoot’em (piloting Grendizer’s Spazer) and third-person combat with a giant robot, all infused with a touch of exploration. Anyway, we imagine meeting a henchman sent by the Vega Empire and settling his score.
Microïds even shares a small trailer. For a short and not necessarily representative final result, as mentioned in the lower left, it still sets the mood.
Asteraxe, cornofulgure, retrolaser, fulguropoing and other clavicogyres (remember! Grenadier clavicles projected towards the opponent logically return to their homes!) Grendizer: Feast of WolvesThe exact release date of which is still unknown.
