“My voice teacher at drama school would have been horrified” revealed Hugh Jackman on what he did to his vocal cords
Interpreting a superhero in theaters is not an easy task, and the price of giving life to the Wolverine for more than two decades has been costly for Hugh Jackman. The actor revealed to the program BBC’s Front Rowthat growling and screaming like the Marvel character damaged his voice.
My falsetto isn’t as strong as it used to be and that I directly attribute to some of the growling and screaming. My voice teacher at drama school would have been horrified by some of the things I did. [como Wolverine].”
jackman explained that actors study techniques to be able to release their voice without damaging the vocal chords. However, the actor did not take the necessary precautions while playing Wolverine and is now working to reverse the damage.
I’m taking care of it. I work with a voice teacher and I try not to hurt myself. I put a lot of effort into both physical movement and vocal preparation for each role.”
Hugh Jackman will return to the role of Logan for the tenth time in Deadpool 3 (2024) next to Ryan Reynolds. This will be the first film of the mercenary after the acquisition of Fox by Disney and, therefore, the first that takes place in the official chronology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
