The 2023 movie season continues to build, and one of the most anticipated feature films hitting theaters this spring is Super Mario Bros., The Movie. In case some were worried, this animated adventure adapted from the popular Nintendo video game franchise and overseen by its creator Shigeru Miyamoto seems to be a true love letter to the beloved plumber after all – from what we can see. far away
Just over a month away from its scheduled April 5th release date, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic’s film is slowly being revealed, and the pace is now picking up: Casting (voices of Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, and Anya Taylor. -joy) Teasers, Trailers, Clips, Posters, Ads — Like We saw it at halftime of the Super Bowl – the marketing campaign makes fans nostalgic, especially since there are so many references to the games involved.
A short but effective film?
As Jeuvideo.com and Collider report, the latest discovery is a feature-length film celebrating Mario’s return to the spotlight. Thanks to the Irish Board of Film Classification, we now know that Super Mario Bros, the movie will run for… 92 minutes and 17 seconds, or 1 hour and 32 minutes!
While this length may seem short to some, it’s not surprising since animated films are on average shorter than their live-action counterparts. To compare with other recent animated projects from the studio Illumination Entertainment, which produces the film: Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru (2020) lasted 90 minutes, and Puss in Boots 2: The Last Quest (2022) 100 minutes. So nothing abnormal and if the trip is short, it promises to be exciting!

If Nintendo wants to turn Mario into a mega movie franchise, it will be the box office results of this first feature film and the opinion of the public and press that will dictate its future. As such, its success could allow other popular video game franchises to be adapted for the big screen… See you on April 5!
