Botafogo on alert after Tiquinho sending offs and assault on referee

Botafogo repeated a bitter script in classic: defeat and expulsions. After losing against Vasco, Fogão fell against Flamengo, this Saturday, in Brasilia, for the Carioca Championship. The 1-0 defeat was also marked by red cards. Midfielder Lucas Fernandes demands control of the team – striker Tiquinho even headed referee Tarcizo Pinheiro Caetano.

“I don’t have much to say. It’s just to keep working. Our team needs to have a little more head. It’s the second game we’ve exceeded the number of red cards. Very soon. We tried to look for him. Unfortunately we didn’t succeed. It makes you raise your head, there are many games ahead” said Lucas Fernandes, CEO Caze TV.

This was Lucas Fernandes’ first game of the season. He was out with a muscle injury. The midfielder was active in the first half, replacing Patrick de Paula, who was injured.

Lucas Fernandes came on well and gave Botafogo’s attack more strength. However, he wasn’t able to stop the defeat. O Fogão took the lead with 24 seconds to play. In the final stage, the team lost its head again.

Joel Carli, already on the bench, was sent off after a mess with Marinho. Then, in the final stretch of the classic, Tiquinho Soares and Marçal lost their heads and exaggerated the claim, receiving a red card.

In the defeat against Vasco Adryelson and Rafael were sent off, complicating life at Botafogo, who were then defeated 2-0.

Botafogo returns to the field to make its debut in the Copa do Brasil. O Fogão visits Sergipe, this Thursday, at 20:00 (Brasilia time), in Batistão, for the first phase of the tournament. Carioca’s next match is against Resende, Sunday 5, at 4 pm, at the Kleber Andrade stadium in Cariacica.
