Teen Wolf fans were treated to a double treat this week: Paramount+ released the Teen Wolf movie and the Wolf Pack series, new werewolf creations from original series creator Geoff Davis.
If the film continues the adventures of the mythical characters of the Teenage Wolf, the Wolf Pack series makes us follow a whole new group of characters. Based on the books by Edo Van Belkom, this fantasy series tells how the lives of two teenagers, Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Sheppard), will change when a California forest fire awakens a terrifying supernatural entity.
The two young men injured in this incident are inexplicably drawn to each other, but also to two other teenagers, fraternal twins Harlan (Tyler Lawrence Gray) and Luna (Chloe Rose Robertson), who were adopted by the Ranger sixteen years ago, one after the other. Mysterious forest fire.
And when the full moon rises, the four teenagers come together to face the mystery that binds them: a werewolf bite and blood. But they’ll have to be vigilant as they hire an expert arson detective, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, to investigate the fire and the supernatural implications of the incident.
Is the Wolf Pack part of the Teen Wolf universe?
Given that the Wolf Pack and Teen Wolf share similarities and are driven by the same creator, it’s natural to wonder if the two series are set in the same universe. There’s no need for fans to try and spot clues or squint and theorize, Geoff Davis has been very clear on the matter.
In an interview with SFX Magazine (Matt Games radarHe explained that the Wolf Pack and Teen Wolf do not share the same universe: “I know everyone is confused, but I always say that no one thinks Twilight is in the same universe as Interview with the Vampire. There could be two werewolves that exist in separate spaces.”
Geoff Davis confided that he didn’t want to do exactly the same series, but a more mature work with current themes, as he explained. Entertainment Weekly :
“I found that teenagers face a lot of problems, like angst, disconnected young people trying to find each other, can they find each other in a world like this, where it’s all about technology and pandemic and separation. That’s what the Wolf Pack is all about. : Four kids find each other, finds his wedding and finds his people.”
Teen Wolf fans should enjoy the Wolf Pack series because of some similarities, but they won’t find any specific connection between the two series. They will discover new characters, a new plot, and will be delighted to find Sarah Michelle Gellar on the small screen.
The Wolf Pack series is available on Paramount+.
