The rapper was betting big on the fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury this Sunday
the rapper Drake is known around the world for not being afraid to make big bets in the sports world.. This weekend, the huge music industry star once again didn’t let himself be intimidated and tried to wrong-foot the outcome of the boxing match between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.
Confident of the youtuber’s invincibility, the singer bet 400 thousand dollars, about R$ 2 million, on Paul’s victory against his opponent. However, the internet star suffered his first loss in professional boxing this Sunday, thwarting Drake’s plans.
The fight between Paul and Fury took place this Sunday evening in Saudi Arabia and was broadcast live on DAZN in Brazil. If the youtuber had knocked out his opponent, the musician would have gone bankrupt and would have pocketed 1.4 million dollars, approximately R$ 7.5 million.
Inside the rink, the boxers had a great fight and after eight rounds the decision went to the judges. In terms of scoring Tommy Fury did better and two judges scored the fight 76-73 for him, while only one gave the win to Jake Paul, 75-74.
The YouTuber started boxing in 2018 and has since recorded six wins before Sunday, four of them by knockout. Fury, however, was the first professional boxer Paul faced.
