Brazil secured their spot in the Basketball World Cup this Sunday by beating the United States. In Santa Cruz do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, the Brazilian team beat the Americans 83 to 76 in the last round of qualifying for the World Cup.
The scorer of the game was Bruno Caboclo with 21 points, while point guard Yago was the flagship of the Brazilian team with 17 points and eight assists. LΓ©o Meindl and Hettsheimeir ended the game with 11 points.

The Brazilian team went into the game needing a win or not to be excluded from a World Cup for the first time. Only Brazil and the United States were present in all editions of the Basketball World Cup.
With qualification, the team led by coach Gustavo De Conti joined the USA, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico among those classified in the Americas for the World Cup. Current vice-world champions, Argentina lost this Sunday against the Dominican Republic and was excluded.
The World Cup will be held in August 2023, with venues in Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia, and will lead to the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris, France.
