The disease was diagnosed in 2021 and during the almost two years of treatment, Márcia was with her husband. You recounted your experience alongside the greatest footballer of all time and commented on how Pelé tackled the fight against cancer.

– I don’t think he saw it as a treat. I think she saw it as a moment that she had to deal with, as she has faced several crises. That was the essence of her. If he had a crisis or a problem, he didn’t think about the crisis or the problem. He just thought he had to live, which had to be done as well as possible. He had this immense life essence, tremendous energy. I think that’s what made him Pele too – said the widow of the King of Football.

In addition, Márcia also talked about what life was like in the marital relationship with the world soccer star. As she reported, the couple protected themselves from outside harassment and lived in “their world.”

– There was a world, mine and his, very internal, that I didn’t share with many people. And it also had events, but intimate and private life was at home. And in this we have made a world of our own – she recalled.
