During the MWC 2023, Xiaomi announced the arrival of Android 13 for its smartphones in the first half of this year. With it, MIUI 14 will also appear on more devices from the Chinese giant. At least 18 mobile phones have been confirmed to receive the news. The 12-series of gadgets is the only one that already has the update, but there will be no shortage of models from two years ago.




The announcement was made by the company in the same presentation that highlighted the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The brand highlighted it 18 models will receive MIUI 14 and Android 13 in the coming monthsbut other devices will also receive the update over time.

Xiaomi’s UI started receiving tests at the end of 2022 in a beta version distributed to mobile phones such as Mi 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11T Pro. Then, at the turn of the year, it started appearing on devices of the twelfth line of the brand.

In addition to offering Android 13 in the update, MIUI 14 brings some great features to smartphone owners. Of course, the performance is better, for example by ensuring that applications that are not used are automatically compressed.

Android 13 is now available on competitors

Google’s operating system update arrived in August 2022, but initially only on Pixel Phone devices. Soon after, Samsung phones took the lead in the refresh, starting with the Galaxy S22 line.

Motorola has already put the Moto G73 and G53 in stores with Android 13 out of the box, launching it first in Europe. Therefore, Xiaomi needs to step on the accelerator a bit to ensure that these 18 models are updated soon, as no one wants to be left behind.
