But as Netflix prepares the second season of ‘Wednesday,’ on Sunday, Feb. 26, during the SAG Awards, it was revealed that the Latina actress isn’t the only celebrity with Merlina’s sarcastic and dark personality.
When the award for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series was presented, Ortega appeared on stage with Aubrey Plaza (who you can see “There’s Always Time to Laugh” on ViX+) and it was like seeing two drops of water.

Jenna Ortega (“Scream” and “You”) presented the award along with Aubrey Plaza (“The White Lotus” and “Emily the Criminal”), but when they were in front of the podium they held a few minutes of silence for each other. .
At first they seemed confused that the event organizers put them together to present the award, but with just one sentence they showed that they have an identical dark personality.
But what proved that they’re identical, and that Aubrey Plaza would be perfect for Wednesday’s future as Merlina as an adult, was that they ended their threat together.
With that, the actors realized why they were chosen to present the winner together and even after the Plaza Awards, she told Entertainment Tonight that she would love to be with Ortega on Wednesday.

In addition to their appearance making the audience laugh, many fans online were also excited by the chemistry and similarities between the actors, so they started asking to see them play together in the future.
Some of the comments said that they would be perfect as mother and daughter, or that Plaza was appearing on “Wednesday” as some distant aunt of Merlina’s or even her version from the future.
Netflix’s Twitter account also made reference to the comparison of the actors and suggested that Plaza appear in the second season of ‘Wednesday’ as Merlina’s relative.
Both actresses at the SAG Awards were nominated for an award, with Jenna Ortega, 20, for Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy and Aubrey Plaza, 38, winning an award alongside the cast of “The White Lotus.”
