Triada’s success has been confirmed a week after its release on Netflix. Inspired by the incredible storyline, the Mexican series is now second in the top spot behind Outer Banks. With only 8 episodes and an exciting storyline, it has all the makings to become a hit on the platform.
Attention, the rest of the article contains spoilers for the end of the triad?
If you’re one of those subscribers who’s already finished the series, the question is on your lips: Is Netflix planning a Triada season 2? At the moment, no decision has been made, but it is unlikely that the series will have a continuation, because it was thought that way. At the end of the first season, the three sisters discover the truth about their past and about the person who broke them from the beginning: Dr. Julia Batiz (Nuria Bagges).
Aleida manages to free Beka and Tamara trapped in a glass cage. But when the latter two manage to find him in his childhood home, they find their sister Julia Batiz holding him at gunpoint. The twins don’t know how to escape without getting hurt. After that, we hear that the psychiatrist was locked in the basement, in a dark room, in a place where no one can find him.
In other words, the circle is complete for our three heroes camped by Mayte Peron, who can now live their lives and get to know each other. In the process, Beka learns that Humberto (David Chocaro), who worked as a doctor for years, died in a car accident.
If there is a season 2 of Triada, it could be about another Triad or just tell us how Becca, Tamara, and Aleida manage to live after discovering the truth about their childhood. Julia could also return, as could Humberto. Nothing tells us that she actually died or that the three sisters were the only ones who were part of the experiment…
