With BDE, actor-director Michael Yoon draws inspiration from his crazy nights at business school to stage a comedy with schoolboy humor. Surrounded by Vincent Desannat, Helena Noguera and Lucien Jean-Baptiste, the former Morning Live host lets himself go and even goes so far as to blow up the chalet.
The scene that takes place at the end of the film is quite impressive, to the point where you wonder if it’s not visual effects. Michael Yun confirms that everything is authentic and that the team was even close to the drama.
“An explosion in a movie theater is just gas, projections, styrofoam and foam, except that the person in charge loaded the dosehe explains at the AlloCiné microphone. There was too much gas and the chalet was burning. Firefighters intervened to extinguish the fire. It was a 70,000,000 euro chalet and we ended up with a disaster. Amazon may be the least successful company today.“
In another equally delirious sequence, Michael Yun confronts a bear in a cage. Again, no special effects, neglect, but fresh scares. “Vincent Desanat knows me very well and knows that at some point when I am in front of an animal, I am very scared, even if I try to keep my temper so that everything is fine.Ending on a humorous note, he says: At least it was easier to shoot with a bear than with Lucien Jean Baptiste.”
BDE is available on Prime Video.
