Interpreter of journalist Gale Weathers in the horror franchise, Courteney Cox was only cast in the first Scream after a curious letter

“That’s a fun character, especially in the beginning when she was so relentless. I was known for Friends, they saw me as this friendly and lovely person. So I sent a letter to [o diretor] Wes Craven, saying, ‘I know you don’t think of me that way, but trust me, I can be an absolute bitch.’ It was exaggerated, but it worked,” he explained. cox.
Right away, courtney explained that, in his opinion, fans love characters like Gale Weathers “because they are unique” — not by chance, the journalist returned to several sequels of the franchise. “These are really endearing characters,” said the actress.
Now, decades after the first film in the franchise released in 1996, Courteney Cox will return to the saga again, in Scream 6. With Melissa Barrera It is Jenna Ortega as protagonists, the film should hit Brazilian theaters on March, 9.
