On February 28, 2023, Disney released the trailer for their new live-action production. It is the adaptation of the story of Peter Pan, who many believe was the real villain, but few realized.
will have nominals “Peter Pan & Wendy” and will premiere on Disney + on April 28. Peter Pan will be played by Alexander Molony, Wendy by actress Ever Anderson, Jude Law will play Captain Hook and Yara Shahidi will play Tinker Bell.
The addition of this latest actress of African descent to the film’s cast has caused controversy among Disney fans. While some say Tinker Bell should be blonde and blue-eyed, others are fascinated by the addition of Yara Shahidi to the live-action cast.

Fans Are Not Happy With Tinker Bell In ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’
Like Halle Bailey when she was cast as The Little Mermaid or Rachel Zegler when she was cast as Snow White (who, by the way, responded as a princess to criticism), some Disney fans have expressed their distaste for choosing Yara Shahidi to play the Tinker Bell.

Fans Defend Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell in ‘Peter & Wendy’
Although the “haters” took to social media after the live-action “Peter & Wendy” trailer was released, other fans are speaking up and defending Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell.
For example, @Sukuna_134340 stated that since Tinker Bell is a fairy, “her race is not important to her plot”:
