In the publication, the magazine highlighted that Anielle entered politics after Marielle’s murder. “I lost my fear when they killed my sister. Now I’m fighting for something much bigger than me,” said the minister a Squad.

“Her tragic family history, warm personality, and deft use of social media transformed the once reserved Anielle into an unlikely leader of Brazil’s black rights movement,” the magazine added.

According to Squadthe women who make up the list have had “significant impacts in their respective communities and areas, from activism and government to sports and the arts. Many of them face immense challenges that have inspired them to seek change.”

Through social media, Anielle said she was one of the chosen ones for the prestigious ranking of the magazine Squad. “I feel so honored and proud to have been chosen by TIME and to stand alongside such incredible women that I so admire,” Anielle said.
