Horror game ‘Dead by Daylight’ gets film adaptation

Renowned studios Atomic Monster, by James Wan, and Blumhouse, by James Blum, have teamed up to adapt “Dead by Daylight”, a game from Behavior Interactive, for the big screen. According to the information of Varietythe team is already looking for a director and a writer for the film.

We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the Dead by Daylight universe. At Behaviour, our motto is to create unique moments, together, forever. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners to bring Dead by Daylight’s entry-level killer to the big screen.

Stephen Mulrooney, executive vice president of Behavior Interactive, in a statement.

Both Blum and Wan are big names in the horror industry and will serve as producers on the film. Not surprisingly, the entire experience of both directors, who met in 2007 when they worked together on “Supernatural”, initiated negotiations for a possible merger of the two companies.

If implemented, the deal could turn the media into a “monster” in the horror industry. Announced last year, the deal would fall within the scope of Universal Studios, but nothing has been finalized yet.

With no cast names or deadlines to start filming or announce a release, at least there’s assurance that the “Dead by Daylight” adaptation is in good hands. Considering that the game is about survival and has added iconic figures like Freddy Kreuger, Pinhead and Leatherface over the years, we can expect something very different.

The Behavior team has created a love letter to the world of horror, building a stunning environment full of atmosphere and terrifying villains – it’s perfect for a scary film adaptationWan added.
