In the online cinema KION comes out Drama “Sigh” Kim Ki Dooka, who competed in the main competition at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. Kim is a classic of modern cinema and the most famous director of the Korean new wave of the 2000s, along with Park Chang-wook, Bong Joon-ho, Lee Chang-dong and others. The main roles in the film were played by Chang Chen, Ji-a Park and Kim Ki-duk himself.

According to the plot, the housewife Yong lives with an unfaithful husband, raises her daughter and sculpts clay sculptures in her free time. One day, she sees a story on the news about prisoner Jang Jin. He had already tried to commit suicide twice, but the state saved him from death. Young arrives at the prison, calls himself Jin’s ex, and seeks a meeting. Thus begins their strange romance, which has become an outlet for two lonely hearts.

Kim Ki-duk was one of the most famous Korean directors with a clear auteur style. Its main theme is the hatred of a person for being full of injustice and cruelty, so his heroes constantly find themselves in locked spaces or squeezed by life circumstances. There are two ways to break out to “freedom” – through physical suffering and death, or through love.
